I am currently in the process of costume designing a scene from a 1930's british comedy titled "Private Lives" by Noel Coward. My inspiration came from watching a variety of high society british films. This happens to be a production photo from the film adaption of Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice. It is entitled 'Making a Scene at Georgianna's Ball'. What grabbed me was the color difference between male and females as well as the placement of the hardwood floor. The linear design would have been very modern during the time period of 1797-1813 (Georgian period).
